Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day! My husband was such a sweetie and surprised me with a wonderful box of assorted yummy cupcakes he got downtown at a bakery. He knows how much I love cupcakes so he was definitely speaking my love language! Unfortunatly he has to work tonight so it's just me and my little buddy, only I had to put him to bed at 6pm. So...I'm having a date with Glee and The New Girl while eating my yummy cupcakes...haha
What did you do for Valentine's Day?

Today I scored some of my wish list items!! I'm so excited to track two of these beauties down and I didn't have to pay an arm and a leg! I have been following a very popular blog effortlessanthropologie.com and Roxy hosts a Trade Market where you can find other Anthropologie lovers selling, trading, and seeking their favorite items!

Dusky Begonia T-Straps
Thanks to one of the girls on the Trade post, I will be a proud owner of these adorable shoes!! My dad bought me them for an early birthday present and I'm so excited to get these in my life! This time I won't let my dog anywhere near them!

Tria Sweater Skirt-Anthropologie

Yup the Tria skirt. EBay wanted $135...i got it for way more than half the price!
You don't always have to go to EBay for your Anthropologie sold out items. There are some decent people who won't actually try to rip you off. Search online first and check out Roxy's trade market.

I'm still on the hunt for my other items and some just got added to the list now that I know what they are called...

Anthropologie circa-2009...this reminds me of a ballerina dress. I love ballerina inspired dresses, so feminine. Looking for a size 2 if anyone can help me track this down :)

Size 2 Red Caranday Dress by Corey Lynn Calter
Caranday dress
Anthropologie circa-2009
Looking for a size 2 in this if anyone has any leads or is ready to part with theirs, let me know!

I really like the stuff they carried in 2009. Sometimes I wonder why Anthropologie doesn't listen to their customers and sell things people would be more interested in. This season just isn't doing it for me which is a good thing because I am not tempted to go in the store or shop online. I wonder what Anthro will be up to next season? I hope more vintage inspired dresses and tops.

Which items are you desperately after? Do you have any favorite pieces you would like to share?
If you have any leads for these above items, let me know!!

Have a great night :)

These are a few of my favorite things..

It's snowing! Chicago has such crazy weather. One minute its 50 degrees the next it's snowing like a blizzard out. That's why they say "You don't like the weather?..wait ten minutes, it will change." We have had such a mild winter so far so I was kinda surprised.

Today was definitely that kinda of day where your just want to curl up with a good book or favorite show and sip on a warm cup of tea. And I love tea! I decided to catch up on my favorite show, Downton Abby. I simply adore this show and almost feel like I am whisked away to the Crowley's estate sipping tea and sharing secrets with them. If you like period English shows, I highly recommend this show! If you want to check it out, it will be on Sunday on PBS on Masterpiece Classic. True gem!

Ok, so I thought I would start my blog by showing you some of my most treasured anthro pieces.

Anthropologie Budding T-Straps Size 7 or 7.5
These are my favorite pairs of shoes, but i have a sad story to tell. After I wore them one night, I decided to leave them up on my coffee table so I would remember to bring them upstairs and keep them safe from my dog. Boy was I dumb because my dog jumped up and got ahold of them. I found her chewing on one of the pretty pink roses and found the remaining rose on the shoe was bent and slobbered on. I was sooo upset and wanted to cry because these were my special shoes that I just got and were not cheap. She basically ruined the best part of the shoes and they do not look the same without the roses. I plan to fix them once I can find similar fabric but I am still extremely bitter about it since they were not cheap!

My wonderful hubby purchased this for me and gave it to me for Christmas. I was super excited to get it since I missed out on the first bicycle dress. I'm a sucked for vintage inspired dresses and it has pockets!

Wind-Rippled Tee
I love this top because it dresses up any outfit and it is extremely comfy.

This is such a beautiful piece and it looks awesome with the budding t-straps and grey tights!

Spiced Dress

I bought this dress while I was nursing my son so my chest was much larger than it is now. The SA suggested i try a 8 because it is compared to a 2 in this dress. Crazy but she was right! There is absolutely no give in the chest area so I had to size up quite a bit.

I am a big fan of this skirt. I wear it usually with a grey tank tucked in or even the wind ripple tee.

The items that got away.....

Here are some of the pieces I look for daily hoping one day someone will be willing to let them go.
LOVEEEEEE
I am on hot pursuit for this one and pray one day it will be mine!
Seriously if anyone wants to part with theirs, I wear a size x-small/small and I'm interested!
Anthro: Fulmar skirt circa 2008
love this feminine skirt
I lost out on this one recently but they wanted an arm and a leg for it on EBay. I'm hoping my chance will come without someone trying to rip me off.

I missed out on these because I thought they were similar to my budding t-straps. Well we all know how that turned out. Hoping to find them someday size 9

Last but not least the two wheeler shirt dress. Such a pretty vintage piece that i adore.

That's it for now. I'll be back tomorrow to share more of my current anthro loves!
Thank you for reading my blog!

Welcome!

Hello everyone. I'm so happy you stopped by to check out my new venture. Here I will share all the pretty things I come across and life as a stay at home mom. And of course my favorite store, Anthropologie! I'm sure once I get use to blogging this will become more defined.
